You’re already DOING it!

Back in the day, I was a birth doula, supporting other moms became a passion of mine since the moment I gave birth to Presley and heard another mom laboring next door at the birthing center. I just wanted to rush in and tell her, YOU GOT THIS!!

I had the blessing of attending a wide variety of births and met some of the most incredible humans and babies. There comes a point in time in the birthing process where the mother starts to say, “I can’t do this”, “I’m not capable”, “I can’t go on anymore”, and more often than not, it is a sign that she is in transition, the most challenging, but shortest part of labor right before the baby is born.

When I was in transition with Presley, and “I can’t do this” started to make its way out of my mouth more than once, my Doula said these very simple words to me...

“You can do it, because you already ARE doing it!”

So I want to ask you this, is there anything currently going on in your life that you keep on telling yourself you can’t do?

If you answered YES, do you know what that means?!

You are already capable of doing hard things because you are ALREADY doing them.

We are in unprecedented times and I want to encourage you to take a moment (yes, I am telling you to take moment, and you *may* have just convinced yourself you don’t have one, in which I say back to you, TAKE A DAMN MOMENT FOR YOURSELF, whatever you’re doing will still be there in a minute or two), and just take a deep breath and revel in all you currently CAN and ARE doing, because it’s ALOT. Let yourself be amazed at yourself and in those moments where you feel you just can’t go on, use that feeling as a cue to remind yourself that, I CAN DO HARD THINGS BECAUSE I’M ALREADY DOING THEM.

You TOTALLY got this, babe.
