One EASY way to Reduce Stress
I recently got a new iPhone, and LET ME TELL YOU, I did something different this time in setting it up and it has CHANGED MY LIFE.
I set my phone up as new. Yup, I did not restore from my previous backup, which allowed me to really think about what I actually needed on my phone. I now only have 1 page of apps (down from 4!), I couldn’t believe how much I wasn’t using!
As I’ve been opening up each app, I TURN OFF THE NOTIFICATIONS, with the exception of my phone ringer, voicemail and text messages. Get this…with those, I only keep the badges and sounds on. Yes, even the lock screen notifications are off!
I was SHOOKETH at how much this has positively impacted by ability to be present in ALL aspects of my life, and truly, I didn’t realize how often my phone GRABBED my attention throughout the day, or even how often I grabbed for my phone when I was involved in a task I didn’t want to be doing, or even in a moment of silence while a friend went to the restroom.
I am NOT trying to be all holier than thou on you, but I do really want to encourage you to play around with your settings and take a moment to set up your phone in a way that really works for you, mind, body and soul, instead of your phone trying to set you up to work best for it. The more present we can be in our life, the more wellness, ease and fulfillment we get to experience. It is ok to not be the first to know 😉
Now, go into your phone settings and TURN OFF as many notifications as you feel comfortable with so you get to engage when YOU FEEL READY, then let me know what you think and are discovering!
